I watched a movie on Friday at 10:00 am. I don't watch movies anytime during the day, so 10:00 am is a major outlier.

I have a high-stakes business pitch next Tuesday, so every day is consumed with PowerPoint and personal edits. It's easy to get sucked into all the to-dos of home, career, and launching a business. The to-dos have really taken over (no lie).

But I watched a movie on Friday at 10:00 am with my kid's school; a field trip I signed up for on a whim, feeling the hint of obligation that comes with permission slips.

I watched the movie and cried my to-do-list heart out, the dam of tears I didn't know I needed to release.

This hint of obligation is what I needed for next week's business pitch.
