Inspired by Mark Twain’s “The Prince and the Pauper.”
The year is 1537, in the heart of old London. In the quaint town of Offal, two boys of starkly different worlds are born on the same day. One, destined to rule as a Prince; the other fated to toil as a Pauper. Their lives were never to intersect- but fate had other plans.
This is their story.
The year is 2024, a whirlwind year filled with family, career, entrepreneurship and politics. I’m neither a royal with a life embroidered with silk and gold nor a pauper in tattered rags.
But I share the same story. The same twist of fate. Where my words, once humble and pleading, now carry an unintended weight.
I feel like a fish-out-of-water sometimes.
